Wheaton, IL October 15, 2010 - The 3rd annual Business Innovation Conference 2010 concluded its three-day program from October 4-6 to rave reviews from attendees and strong interest in participating in next year’s Business Innovation Conference 2011. The conference included an outstanding roster of five keynote speakers and over 25 other presenters speaking on a wide range of business innovation topics, including Innovation and the Formula for Change, Creating Disruptive Innovation, Business Innovation Maturity Model and Why the Guerilla Inventor Succeeds.
Chris Galvin, former CEO of Motorola and currently CEO of Harrison Street Capital, spoke about the innovation culture and philosophy that he, his father and his grandfather used in building Motorola to a $40 billion corporation – and what happens when that culture of innovation is allowed to decline. Steve Shapiro, Vice President of Strategic Consulting at InnoCentive enthralled the audience with how innovation could be harnessed as the key driver for ongoing, sustainable predictable change. Jean Holley, CIO of Tellabs, spoke about how strategic management of Information Technology can help drive and support a culture of innovation even in a large corporation like Tellabs.
Other keynote speakers were Gerald Haman, who spoke about the role of brainstorming and ideation in generating innovation, and Hardik Bhatt, who described how innovative technology solutions were being used to deliver enhanced efficiencies in service to the citizens of the City of Chicago.
The Business Innovation Conference is a premier educational and networking event bringing together leading innovation experts and practitioners from business, academia and government to exchange experiences and explore and learn the science of innovation.
Praveen Gupta, the lead conference organizer, said “Traditionally, innovation has been viewed as an art, a flash of genius, or rare strokes of brilliance — expensive and unpredictable to manage.” He continued, “In the 21st century, we now have the tools to master innovation so that we become continual thinkers, capable of innovating on demand, and managing innovation teams to predictable outcomes.” Each participant was given Praveen’s book titled Business Innovation in the 21st Century.
Four workshops on the first day of the conference provided deep innovation insights and content that attendees were able to assimilate and apply immediately. Attendees then enjoyed 18 presentations, over the next two days with speakers from diverse industries and domains – in addition to making invaluable new connections and opportunities to share ideas and experiences with other accomplished innovators from around the US and the world.
